Sculpture in Clay: Planters, Vessels & Forms

This 2-session, beginner class explores sculpting with clay—no pottery wheel required. Learn core techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building to create planters, vessels, or abstract forms.

Whether you're interested in shape, texture, or function, this is a hands-on introduction to working with clay in a relaxed, supportive setting. No experience needed—materials and tools are provided.

    • 5 hours of hand building practice at POP studio to learn

      • preparation of clay

      • different hand building techniques such as coiling, slab building and pinch forming

    • Including all materials and tools

    • Includes glazing & firing of 1 piece by a POP team member — or get €30 off our Introduction to Glazing class to do it yourself.

    • Any additional pieces are charged at 10€ per piece for firing and glazing.

    • Pick up your finished piece approx. 4 weeks after your class at the POP studio

    • 2 sessions

    • First session focuses on building the form using handbuilding techniques like pinching, coiling, or slabbing.

    • Second session is for decorating, refining, or bringing new ideas to life based on what you’ve explored in the first class.

  • This class does not require any previous knowledge and is suitable for beginners and intermediates.
